Day 11 Insert Title Here

The face of the West
Ok so I missed a couple of days, but I'm back in the saddle again! Hopefully there will be no more stops in the thankful train. Today I wanted to express my thanks for the land of my birth. Though I may not always agree with the path my country takes I am still proud of it's heritage and the privileges we maintain.

America was born of men and women who sought freedom, they sought to be in control of their own destinies. A pauper could become a prince in America with enough vision and determination. Today we call them entrepreneurs but the principle is still the same. Because of the religious freedom the new world offered, the LDS church was able to be founded by the first latter-day Prophet, Joseph Smith. Just like the freedom to work as you please that religious freedom has lasted into today where I am now a member of the LDS church and am able to practice and believe as I wish. We've had a long proud history of aiding our allies when they've come under duress and into today maintain an armed force of men and women who are willing to put their lives down to protect others.

Like I said we aren't perfect, our history and probably our future isn't just sunshine and unicorn farts, but when it comes down to it Americans band together when the going gets rough, we buckle down and work hard. It takes a lot to get us down, and I'm thankful to have been born and raised here.
